ROBLIN'S CULTURAL FEST , which was held on March 10th, 2012 in Roblin Manitoba, was another success with over 700 people in attendance. The Event was sponsored by Roblin/Shell River Economic Development & Immigration Services, The Town of Roblin, RM of Shell River, and Parkland Regional Settlement Services.

The Cultural Fest featured Cultural booths showcasing a wide variety of items from many different countries and heritage. The Event also showcased Entertainment on Stage all day long, food sampling, beer tasting from around the World, horse-drawn wagon rides and a Chinese Auction (prizes donated by local businesses).

The Community of Roblin is home to inidividuals whose ancestry includes the Ukraine, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, China, Brazile, South Korea, United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Belgium, France, Metis, 1st Nation, Egypt, East India, Filipines and the list goes on...

160 Volunteers took part in making this "Celebration of Culture" in our community a success. These included many of our long-time residents, newcomers, recent immigrants, and various organizations, such as the Lions Club and the Royal Canadian Legion members, as well as the 4-H Club and local businesses.

Entertainment consisted of singers, dancers, and athletes: Bratstra Ukrainian Dancers, Calder Yalenka Ukrainian Dancers, Valley River 1st Nations Pow-wow Dancers & Drummers, Roblin Dance Club members, South Korean Educational Students Tae-Kwon Do group, NW Regional Metis Square Dancers, Dauphin Friendship Centre Pow-wow group, Tequila Creek musicians, Roblin Karate Club members, Duck Mountain Steppers (metis square dancers & jiggers), local musicians such as: Scott Cornelius on Fiddle, Steven Jesmer, Ed Doering, Eli Bodnariuk, and Horse-drawn Wagon rides were free for children all day long.

The Event will once again be held in March of 2013.
